– Abby Taylor –
Bachelor of Midwifery
Master of Speech Pathology
Member of Speech Pathology Australia
Abby is a qualified Speech Pathologist who initially trained as a Registered Midwife. Her interest in paediatric feeding and swallowing stems from her time spent in the special care babies’ unit. During this period, she educated families around breast and bottle-feeding. Her interested continued to develop in this area and she decided to further her studies by completing a Masters in Speech Pathology. A placement in paediatric feeding (inpatient and outpatient) confirmed her desire to specialise in this area.
Since graduating, Abby has worked in children’s centres, preschools and primary schools with children presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, developmental delays and Sensory Processing Disorder.
As a mother of two young boys, both of whom experienced difficulties with feeding in infancy and beyond, she fully understands the stress such issues can place on a family. She believes building meaningful and trusting relationships with a team of professionals is central to achieving positive outcomes.
