Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Flinders University)
Syna is a qualified Speech Pathologist who has experience working with children and adults with a range of conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome. Syna’s interest in feeding therapy began when her nephew exhibited feeding difficulties and food intolerances from a young age, with difficulty progressing from formula to solid foods. She understands the stress parents often experience during mealtimes on a daily basis, particularly when their child struggles with expanding on the quantity and range of foods accepted.
Additionally, Syna has previously supported individuals with Complex Communication Needs using Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems. She is passionate about creating positive opportunities for communication and social participation during mealtimes. Syna recognises the biopsychosocial factors that can impact mealtimes, and aims to provide functional, meaningful and tailored support in consideration of the family’s goals and circumstances.
